General Information This activity has been pre-approved for ABA, ABIM, ABOS, ABOHNS, ABP, ABPath, ABS, and ABTS MOC Part II credit. Approval for MOC Part II credit by other ABMS Boards may be found at https://www.abms.org/. Participants who complete the activity by December 1 will have their MOC credit submitted for the current year; submissions received after December 1 will have MOC credits reported for the following year.
Learning Objectives Upon completion of this educational activity, learners should be able to:
- Describe what opiates are.
- Discuss what makes them different from other substances of abuse/use.
- Identify the unique risks/challenges associated with opiate use disorder.
- Review how this is treated both acutely and chronically.
Method of Participation This activity requires completion of a brief pre-test followed by viewing the presentation and listening to the synchronized audio of the recorded lecture. Please plan accordingly. After viewing the recorded lecture, participants must complete an evaluation and post-test in which they must answer all questions correctly to receive AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. The participant cannot proceed to request credit until the score is achieved.
